Welcome to the official website of the Marikina Association of Southern California - Los Angeles Chapter.
On October 3, 1981, a gathering of Marikenians took place in the backyard of the late Nestor Trinidad’s residence. This event marked the founding of the association. Their mission is a simple purpose of rekindling the friendship and camaraderie among Marikenians in the southern part of California.
I would like to commend the founders of MASCLA, for without them we have not achieved what we are now. For the past presidents, officers, and advisors, many thanks to all of them for the continued support and dedication to the association.
As we look back 26 years ago, I take pride in seeing the progress of this association. There is so much work ahead of us and many more challenges to face, but by working together with courtesy and respect, we can all achieve. The challenges for us are to build more member participations; increase our membership; and bring more Marikenians to our association. It is time for everyone - it’s time for you to get involved.
Together let us renew our commitment with the assurance of a never ending support to keep the MASCLA vision ablaze and forever burning in our hearts. This is our rich cultural heritage that we can leave to our children and the generation after them.
Salamat and Mabuhay,
Leo E. Ignacio
